Feb. 15th: A few bumps along the way, but no matter...

Our morning started out well with this good omen out the cab window on the way to the airport... Of course, with air travel, if it can go wrong - it will. Our flight our of PDX to SFO kept getting pushed back by bad weather in San Francisco, where we needed to catch a connecting flight to Munich by 9:05 pm in the adjacent International Terminal.

After finally taking off at 7:00 pm from PDX, we were sure that there was no way in hell we we'd make it. Our hopes were regained when we had a tail-wind and made up some lost time - we might touch down in SFO at 8:30. However, hope turned to dismay went we were put in a holding pattern once we got to the Bay Area.

Long story short, our connecting carrier, Lufthansa, had an agent meet us at our gate at 8:50 pm (just minutes until push-back) and we literally ran across the airport with her and were greeted by a very warm crew of German flight attendants cheering down the home stretch. We made it!

Of course this meant that our luggage would not be so lucky...

As of 7:30 am Delhi time, Wednesday the 16th, we arrived safe and sound with no trouble catching our connection in Munich. We are enjoying that choice authentic Masala Chai at my favorite Delhi hotel with the tropical birds making a ruckus outside. Our overall travel time door to door has about 30 hours and we expect our luggage to be dropped off tomorrow morning...

Here is a picture of the park across from our room...

  1. God I hate airport travel! It looks like the end justifies the means though.
